Conflict Coaching Sometimes it is not possible to get all parties to the table when crisis or conflict erupts. This can be problematic on many levels, and settling the dispute in a way that is perceived as fair by all can be difficult. In these circumstances we may recommend conflict coaching for those individuals who are looking for suggestions on how to approach a complex high stakes problem. Our conflict coaches help clients think through the situation, clearly identify what’s important to them, and develop strategies that will work successfully with other parties. Our Conflict Coaching Process includes: 1) Using the GPS
model, "Guiding Positions to Solutions." The GPS model has
five elements: 2) Conflict styles analysis. Different parties may have a tendency to be avoiding, accommodating or competing rather than the preferred state of collaborating and/or compromising. 3) Family Dynamics Analysis. What are the myths, superstitions and closely held prejudices in a family and how to deal with them. 4) Appropriate concepts of confrontation, confirmation, and comprehension of other parties. |
